Back to designing and creaating!

After a long hiatus (much too long!) I'm back to work at Orchids Designs! I've got some new designs inspired by wilted flowers, as well as floaty pieces inspired by daydreams and the sky. Trusty and sweet, Ottilia (Ophelia by BJTales) is here to demonstrate the pieces to fit BJTales Sindy, Aerica and Phantom. In the near future I will be adding a new "model" to the muse collection - Pearl by BJTales. Can't wait to meet her, and start on the numerous designs I already have sketched out (how exciting!)

We're going to have some amazing photographs to share of the new designs, as I invested in a handsome gentleman with amazing photography skills to document these creations (he comes with great cooking skills too, added bonus!)

Homesick Clearance Sale

As many of you know, we've been in Europe for a year and a half, exploring, gathering new ideas, being inspired, and collecting beautiful trims and fabric for future designs.

Gossamer Pierrot

A delicate two-piece set of butter-cream coloured organza and lace. Inspired by my own travels, the theatre, and yearning for the sky above and distant lands not yet explored. 

High-waisted aviator style pantaloons fit dolls with a hip-width around 11-12cm (such as BJTales Sindy, Aerica, and Phantom.) Ankles tie with butter-scotch coloured ribbons in neat little bows.

The little organza top will also fit middle-sized Myling dolls as a dear little ghostly dress.

Midnight Coat-Dress

For the modern doll with a taste for simplicity and avant-garde design details; a midnight-blue coat dress with cream lace trim, exaggerated cowl collar, and ribbon detail at back.

The collar can be styled several ways for a fresh look each time: pulled up, folded over, or arranged asymmetrically.

Forest Minuet

Heady summer nights buzzing with the spicy fragrance of exotic flowers blooming beneath a swelling moon - this tiny organza frock brings to life the faery kingdom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare. 

Organza petals form the skirt, reminiscent of the lush roses I was inspired by. Cream and ivory coloured lace, beads and trim adorn the bodice and dropped waistline.

 

The halter-neck and wrap-around sash makes this little frock slightly adjustable in size, perfect for dolls with a 7.5cm – 11.5cm bust.
